New Delhi:- Defense Ministry issued clarification on the prohibition on import of 101 defense equipment and weapons.
The clarification has been issued by the Ministry of Defense on Monday, a day after the decision to ban the import of 101 defense equipment and weapons. In fact, questions were raised in the media on the inclusion of some items manufactured in India such as the light fighter aircraft LCA Mark-1A, Pinak Rocket System and Akash Missile System in the restricted list of defense equipment and weapons.
After this, the Ministry of Defense has issued a statement saying that systems like LCA MK-1A, Pinak Rocket System, Akash Missile System are developed according to the needs of the defense forces. Such systems are also available in the international market.
The ministry said “The names of such weapon systems have been included in this list to ensure that the Army does not take any further initiative to procure material of similar quality systems,” There is also a ban on the purchase of equipment or weapons that meet the same quality requirements.
