Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief, Chandrababu Naidu has made serious allegations against the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of Andhra Pradesh. Former CM Chandrababu Naidu said that the government is getting phone tapping of opposition party leaders, advocates, journalists and social workers. In this regard, he has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to intervene in the case and conduct an inquiry on illegal acts. He said that this is a violation of Articles 19 and 21 of the Fundamental Rights.
In the letter written to PM Modi, the former CM said that the people of Andhra Pradesh are facing serious problem under the rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy. In the letter, he also claimed that ever since Reddy came to power, there has been a systematic attack on democratic institutions in the state. He further said that the state government is using arbitrary power which could become a threat to national security in the future.
Naidu said that phone tapping can only be done for matters like threat to national security, sovereignty and integrity of India. He said that phone tapping is not only a violation of the right to privacy but also a threat to those who are sitting in high positions.
