Dr. Indra Kumar Patel, Veterinary Consultant of the Health Department, said that once rabies occurs, it cannot be avoided. The throat pipe of the patient suffering from rabies is called hydrophobia. The patient feels thirsty, but cannot drink water, so he runs away from the water. Dr. Patel told that in which part of the body the effect of rabies spreading in the brain depends on the bite of the animal. Injury to the wound in the foot, the effect of the disease is late on the brain. If there is a wound in the face, the effect of rabies is seen quickly. If rabies is not treated on time, it becomes fatal.

Doctors are given information about prevention and management of rabies in government hospitals of the state. Rabies is a deadly disease. Despite this, timely treatment can save lives. 97 percent of rabies cases are caused by infected dog bites. Apart from the infected dog, the disease can also occur due to biting or nail biting of rabbit, cat, monkey, mongoose, fox, jackal or other wild animals.

Safe and effective treatment of animal bites is available in government hospitals. If an animal is bitten, the wound should be rinsed for 15 to 20 minutes in soap, dettol or other antiseptic flowing water and contact the doctor immediately for timely treatment. Get complete vaccinations on time according to the doctor’s consultation. Do not ignore the wounding, licking, biting or biting of animals.
