There was a time when we used to sit together and have a dinner with our family, when the morning use to begin with prayers and worships, when everyone cared about each other and believed in unity and works for the welfare of society.
May be western nations have a better economy than ours but we have a much more diverse and divine culture. In the pace of achieving a better economy like western nations, the new generation is actually imitating the western culture.
In the medieval India, knowledge of a person represented his/her status in the society but now wealth represents the status in the society. Now schoolbags, shoes, clothing, watches have become a status symbol. Even people have started believing that pizzas and burgers add to their social status. People consider noise as music. The traditional dance forms of India have been replaced by jazz and hip-hop. Western nations adopted and developed their lifestyles according to their climatic conditions and we have adopted as per ours.
But if we will imitate their lifestyle then we are just on the verge of becoming Second Hand Westerners.
Where the whole world kneeled before Yoga and Ayurveda we are busy buying memberships of GYMS. Where the world is polishing inner beauty, we are overloading ourselves with cosmetics.
To adopt something for amelioration is good but to blindly adopt something creates direful consequences.
We have a history of joint families where 3 to 4 generations lived happily together. Individualization has actually broken up the joint family system paving a way to youth to fall prey towards drug addiction. People are encouraging live in relationships and individualism. It is our culture where there is longer married life, less divorces, less illegal children and more respect for elders but now everything is getting inverted as it was earlier.
In the influence on western culture we have defeated us mentally , making us schizophrenic where our thought process is changed. Rain shows the existence of clouds, sun rays show the existence of sun and we show the existence of our culture.
