That\u2019s just a business strategy\u2014and a very malicious one. Absolutely against anything that is going to be detrimental for the coming generation,\u201d she said, sharply critiquing the intent behind these products.<\/p>\n<p>Her remarks come in the backdrop of alarming data emerging from school-level studies and discussions led by educators and stakeholders. As highlighted in a recent seminar covered in, a significant percentage of students remain unaware of the legal status and health implications of vaping, indicating a dangerous gap between regulation and real-world awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Anis emphasized that HNB products, often positioned as \u201creduced harm alternatives,\u201d are part of a larger narrative being constructed by multinational corporations to re-enter markets where traditional tobacco faces resistance. According to her, this positioning is misleading and strategically crafted to dilute the perceived risks, especially among impressionable youth.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out that the regulatory framework governing tobacco and nicotine products in India has not kept pace with the rapid evolution of these technologies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe policies were made in 2003; they need to be revisited, reviewed, and revamped for the current scenario,\u201d she stated, calling for urgent policy intervention to address emerging product categories like HNB devices, nicotine pouches, and e-cigarettes.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, she further called for stronger alignment between policymakers, educators, parents, and public health institutions to counter this influence. According to her, awareness campaigns must evolve to match the sophistication of marketing strategies deployed by these companies.<\/p>\n<p>The event marked a significant step toward initiating dialogue and driving collective action to combat the growing influence of vaping among youth.<\/p>\n<p>Mothers Against Vaping is a united front of concerned mothers dedicated to combatting the escalating vaping crisis among Indian children and youth.
